SBC Week 8: Games

Hi guys, it’s hmsmarim,

The activity that I did this week was to go to the Flipboard Magazine and comment on 3 blog posts.

Game 2: Flipboard Three

Many great student posts are being flipped to the 2018 #stubc Flipboard magazine, but Miss W is not sure how many of you have actually checked them out. So here are the instructions for this game.

  2. Click on the post title of what looks like an interesting image or a catchy title
  3. You should now be taken to the actual blog post, read it and leave a comment
  4. Come back to the magazine again and repeat two more times

SBC Week 7: Commenting and Visiting Others

Hi, guys, it’s hmsmarim,

This week for SBC I did one of each activity. The first one I did was visiting 10 blogs and commenting. I commented on:

Abbey’s Blog

I decided to comment on Abbey’s blog because I thought that her post about her dog was really cute and very detailed.

Adriana’s Blog

I commented on Adriana’s blog because I thought she put really good information about cheetahs and I really like animals that are cute and friendly, so I chose her blog to comment on.

Jackson’s Blog

I commented on Jackson’s blog because I saw his adorable pet, Bobby. I also commented on his blog because his topics are very interesting. Jackson’s pet caught my eye to his very interesting blog because it seemed really cool to see a pet on his blog.

SBC Week 6: Quotes – Making My Quote Visual

Hi, guys, it’s hmsmarim,

I am going to be creating a visual quote using Quozio. Creating a visual quote wasn’t hard to do because Quozio tells you that you just have to put the author of the quote and what the quote is, then you just select which background you want and then you have created your own visual quote. I went to GoodReads and found a quote from Maya Angelou. The quote that I picked out was:

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

~Maya Angelou

I chose this specific quote because when I was in third grade, this girl said something to me and made me cry, but today I don’t really remember what she said. I forgot what she did after the incident happened because I didn’t want to think of that bad moment specifically. I will never forget how she made me feel that day because I have never been in that certain position before and that thing that she did will never leave my mind because it will be a small part of my mind from here on out. I say that because later on in my life I’m most likely to have a difficult time with different subjects in high school and I am most likely going to get judged a lot by many people, but I know what to do if that happens. That’s why I chose that quotes because it can remind a lot of people to make sure you think before you say.

The quote that I chose applies to thinking before you say anything to that person because for example, you are going to say something mean to someone, then they are most likely going to tell someone about it and you are the one responsible for it. This also applies to if you are watching this happen because you can say something to that person and stop what they are doing to that person instead of just watching the situation happen. That is why I chose this quote because it basically teaches a lesson to anyone.

SBC Week 5 – Spring Break: Los Angeles

Hi guys, it’s hmsmarim,

Ill be talking about my time in Los Angeles. I went to Los Angeles when we were on Spring Break.

I went to Los Angeles with my cousin, aunty, uncle, mom, and dad. When we went to Los Angeles we stayed at the hotel called Courtyard Marriott. We went to Six Flags Magic Mountain and rode many rides. On one ride my cousin, dad, and I got soaking wet, the ride was called Roaring Rapids. We also went to Universal Studios. We rode many rides that were really fun. My favorite ride would have to be the Simpsons Ride. In Los Angeles, we also saw the Hollywood sign.

We went to many stores like Ikea, Trader Joes, Ralphs, and Daiso Japan. My favorite store was Daiso Japan because they have a wide variety of things to buy for a small price. For dinner, we went to many different places. We went to Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Jack in the Box, Wendy’s, and many other restaurants. My favorite dinner would have to be Wendy’s because there was a wide variety of food.

We stayed at the hotel and went swimming, played games, and read some books when we were bored. My cousin and I went to the pool and played games like capture the flag and many other games that were fun. We played Hanafuda in the airport when we were bored on our phones.

SBC Week 4: Global Issues – Activity 1: Water

Hi it’s hmsmarim,

I researched about a global issue that has been going on lately. The topic I picked was water issues.

All around the world, there are water issues. Around 1.1 billion people around the world have lacking access to water. Almost two in three people lacking access to clean water to survive. There are many countries where people have very little water resources. There are many water issues for many people. People are thirsty because they have lack of water. Some people waste water, which is not good because most people around the world have the lack of water. Many women spend several hours collecting clean water, so people can have it to drink in rare water places. We should save water, so in the future, we have more uses for it.
